Is Freschetta really fresh pizza? I was fortunate enough to learn about Freschetta products through the company’s Freschetta Fresh Connection blogger program. Most of my readers know that I rarely serve, buy or promote processed foods. Canned foods push it for me. But, as any busy mom knows—sometimes convenience trumps principle and, out of necessity, I sometimes need to seek out processed, quick-to-the-table products. My girls love pizza—and frozen pizzas are something that even my middle daughter can help make in a rushed, lunchtime pinch. When I look at the ingredient list of most frozen pizzas, however, I cringe—or give in and bake one only to wonder exactly how the ingredients flavor up to taste like warm cardboard. I have tried a variety of Freschetta pizzas—and, they are as close as a frozen pizza has come in our reviews and comparisons to homemade pizza.
