About the Book

“THE GREATEST GIFT FOR DADS OF ALL AGES AND IN ALL STAGES.”

“Your path is your own.”  “No one can tell you how to walk it.”  “Responsibility lies with you.”

These are just some of the important conversations we are gently reminded to embrace within Notes to My Son. With parenting, there are so many things we need to do and take care of, but what conversations are we having to be sure we truly impart the wisdom of our lives into our loved ones? Are we having difficult conversations, asking hard questions, and talking about things without regret?

Don’t let another day pass by without this book.

In Notes to My Son, you’ll discover twenty-five topics to inspire deeper, more meaningful conversations throughout your child’s life, even if your child is now an adult on their own.

My Review

Eric Lynn Shares Short, Easy to Read Words of Wisdom.  While Notes to My Son is short--the author's chosen "notes" are packed with must-read wisdom and thought provoking points.  I loved that the notes were only a few pages long--making it easy to read for a busy, easily distracted parent!  While short--each and every note was truly useful for a father to share with a son (or a parent to share with a daughter!) The notes selected are sure to help the child live life's "big picture" with intention in many areas and stages of life.

Notes to My Son is useful for any parent.  Again--while the book is written by a father for his son--the wisdom is, in most cases, easy to apply to a daughter or a mother/child relationship as well.  Parents do not receive a "guide book" with a newborn as they leave the hospital.  Readers will appreciate Lynn's insights whether they are new parents or parents facing later stages of the game.  This book is one that can actually be read again and again as life's situations present themselves for those needing reminders and a little extra guidance or support along the way!

Would I recommend Notes to My Son by Eric Lynn?  As my readers know, I love memoirs and "life" stories.  The author does a wonderful job creating a useful, parenting resource book that is just a little different than a usual self-help book. He presents real-world, real-life advice that parents should share with any child. Most of the notes in this book are written in a very practical, down to Earth tone that readers will readily enjoy--and readily share (or wish they had shared as their own children grew!).  I would recommend this a gift for new parents--but, also as a treasure to more seasoned parents to pass on to older children as well.
