Our Favorite Desserts for National Dessert Month

October is National Dessert Month—and we thought that it would be the perfect time to take a look back at some of our favorite dessert recipes from the past year at A Mama’s Corner of the World.  We made a lot of desserts last year, didn't we?  What were our favorite dessert recipes--and which one did we choose for our, October 14, National Dessert Day dessert this year?

Mini Pineapple Upside Down Cakes

These turned out great.  They were the perfect size for individual portions, the kids loved helping to make them and they tasted delicious.  I usually find myself only making Pineapple Upside Down Cake recipes in the Spring--but, as soon as the husband mentioned them this morning, I began to rethink that logic.  I wonder if they won't be making an appearance sooner--maybe even for National Dessert Day!

Vanilla Custard with Roasted Pears

This vanilla flan with roasted pears was a little labor intensive--but, it was SO good!  I think this recipe is in my top three for my National Dessert Day creation--but, I may substitute apples for the pears this time around!

Semi Homemade Carrot Cake Cupcakes

I love carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. Packaging the flavors into cupcakes--made from convenient mixes with only a few add-in made them the perfect dessert.  These were a huge hit at a meal for the teachers at a local school during their parent-teacher conferences.

Chocolate Drizzled French Toast

Of course, desserts can be just as yummy for breakfast, right?  Maybe you would like to start your day with this chocolatey, French Toast.  I know my girls never mind a bit!

Oreo Ice Cream Sandwich Sundaes

These Oreo ice cream sundaes were the fastest, easiest recipe that I made last year--and probably the most loved at home and out and about.   These are so much fun for sleepovers and playdates too.  On the same Oreo theme, another favorite was our Triple Chocolate Fudge Oreo Cupcakes, shown in the photo at the top of this post.  They were not quite as easy to make as the Oreo ice cream sundaes, but, they were yummy!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Marshmallow Puffs

We made these several times over the past summer.  It was a quick, easy, fun dessert recipe that the girls could make with friends.

Banana Bread Pudding with Butter Rum Sauce

This was our latest dessert recipe--but, it has already become a family favorite.  I just made this last week.  It's not too soon to make it again, is it?

Okay--now that we've recapped some of our favorite dessert recipes for National Dessert Month--which dessert did we make for National Dessert Day this year?  It was a busy weekend with dance competitions, dance rehearsals, and general fall chaos.  We were a little short on time--so we chose the Oreo Ice Cream Sandwich Sundaes.

Have a great National Dessert Month!
