Every caregiver knows the trials of feeding a picky eater. Some nights are truly a battle. Nerves are frayed, and a pleasant, relaxing dinner can
quickly be filled with tears, tantrums, and some nights, a battle of wills. Well, my goal with this book is to tip the scales in our favor. One surefire way I've discovered to get my picky eaters to eat is to let them help make the meal. After all, food tastes better when you've had a hand in fixing it. Let your child try their hand with the recipes in
this book. A child who becomes the superhero of dinnertime is one who eats super well.
Fun Book to Interest Children in the Kitchen. My middle daughter was a very picky eater! We found that the best way to interest her in trying new foods was to let her choose recipes/meal ideas and involve her in the prep work! Be a Superhero in the Kitchen offers pages of kid-friendly recipes with fun illustrations, cool recipe titles, and tips that help families learn some things in the kitchen along the way.
Be a Superhero in the Kitchen Offers Recipes that Actually Turn Out Well! Some children's cookbooks require some modification to adapt the "fun"kid-friendly recipes into family meals. We found that the recipes we tried were kid-friendly and reasonable enough to add to real family dinners, too, for mom and dad.
Would I recommend Be a Superhero in the Kitchen by Donna Glass? If you plan to introduce your child to cooking--or if your child has an interest and needs a kid-friendly cookbook to try out at home--this is a fun one! The pages are loaded with easy-to-follow, easy-to-make recipes and bright, fun illustrations. Readers will find a cute book to help open the door to kitchen adventures. I would definitely recommend it as a birthday or holiday gift--or as an Easter basket stuffer.
I have to thank my hubby for the book's concept. We love comics and superhero movies. He suggested I give the cookbook a "super" feel with the super tips in the thought bubbles and devising catchy comic-inspired recipe titles. Alejando Chamberlain, the illustrator, loved the concept and did a masterful job with designing the characters.
Several characters were inspired by members of my family.
The little boy on the cover is my son. The little girl wearing cat ears is my daughter. The grandma sidekick is their Nana. Finally, the super pet is one of my furbabies! I am so proud of the artwork. I can't praise Alejandro enough.
