What does Mommy do when she leaves for work? From giving medicine to using her stethoscope, Nurse Mommy’s job is important because she helps patients get better. But what about her family back home—does Nurse Mommy really have to go to work? Nurse Mommy helps kids understand what the nurse they love is doing when they go to work at night.
Nurse Mommy Is A Cute Book for Little Ones. Nurse Mommy is a simple story with bright, colorful illustrations that help readers understand the roles of a nurse--who also happens to be a mommy. The flow of the story makes it the perfect story to help little ones understand what parents do when they go to work. Even if you are reading with a child whose parent isn't a nurse--it can open the discussion of what their own mommy or daddy do when they leave for work.
Would I Recommend Nurse Mommy by Kristyn Boland? Change is difficult for little ones--and understanding a working parent's day may help them cope with the emotions they face. I remember being sad that my own mother couldn't take me to work with her when I was a little girl! I would definitely recommend this to caregivers of pre-school-aged children or young elementary-aged children! It is a sweet way to explain what "mommy" does when she goes to that mysterious "work" place--and remind the little one that they are still in her thoughts while she works.
