Cindi isn’t sure about this holiday called Valentine’s Day, but after her
people pair dress her up like a flamingo and take her for a walk in front of her friends, and her handsome new neighbor dog, Chip, she doesn’t like it at all! She and her BFF, Pitty Pat, have been watching Chip ever since he moved next door. She wants to meet him, but not like this! Have you ever changed your mind about something? In this
outrageously funny story, meet some of Cindi’s fur-friends and find out if she changes her mind about Valentine’s Day.
Cindi’s Chocolate Valentine is an especially SPECIAL book because it features 17 pets that were chosen as winners in the Cindi Features a New Friend contest last summer. As you can imagine, their ‘people families’ are beyond excited about their pets being part of the story. They had over 750 pets, including dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, hedgehogs, and even a chicken, goat, donkey and monkey enter the contest!
Cindi's Chocolate Valentine Includes Pets in the Valentine's Day Fun. I love books that illustrate human-like thoughts and behaviors from the pets' points of view. From learning about holidays--to feelings of embarrassment and loveable love interest style crushes--this book hits on some of the little happenings of Valentine's Day that our family dogs and cats see--and could very well feel--as they experience the holiday with us.
Illustrations Load the Book With Valentine's Day Hearts and Colors. Illustrator Janine Rhodes gives little readers a lot of colorful reds and pinks--with hearts and flowers and Valentine's Day-themed pages. Readers will be able to see the emotions that the author shares in the story through the illustrated expressions of the characters.
Would I Recommend Cindi's Chocolate Valentine by Beverley Reichman? Cindi's Chocolate Valentine is a fun Valentine's Day book for dog and cat lovers. The story will undoubtedly bring some giggles as Cindi and Pitty Pat face the embarrassment of wearing Valentine's Day-themed pet clothes in front of friends--and some "awws" as Cindi receives her special Valentine. It is an adorable story for imaginative little ones who love animals.
