Italian Garlic Butter Spread Recipe for Garlic Bread

With a hectic schedule, we serve pasta dishes at least once a week. Often, they are simple, quick to prepare and pleasing to everyone in the family with minimal work. We generally serve pasta with a salad, a vegetable and garlic bread. Since garlic bread is not always readily available in our freezer--we have learned to improvise. We use this Italian garlic butter recipe on toasted, crunchy Tuscan style or Italian bread several times a month. Made from on-hand spices and butter--the recipe is one that can be whipped together at the last minute in a pinch. Italian Garlic Butter Spread is our letter I entry for the Blogging from A to Z challenge. I is for Italian Butter Spread!

Instructions for Italian Garlic Butter Spread

Whip the butter by hand for a few minutes until butter or margarine is creamy and smooth. Add the cheese, Italian seasoning and garlic powder. Mix thoroughly until butter spread is well blended.

Spread desired amount onto warm or toasted Italian style bread or breadsticks and serve.

Alternatively, for an oven baked garlic bread--spread the bread liberally with garlic butter and pop into a 350 F oven for about 8-10 minutes.

Notes:
The Italian Garlic Butter Spread may be stored, tightly covered in the refrigerator for a few days between uses.

Our girls also enjoy this butter spread on breakfast toast accompanying a frittata or omelet—or as a seasoning for mixed vegetables or green beans.
