Book Review: Beer Money by Dani Amore

Love to read mysteries and thrillers?  For the longest time, thrillers and crime novels were the only books I read.  Although I had never read anything from author Dani Amore--the description of Beer Money caught my interest.  I couldn’t resist the opportunity to carve out a little time to read a mystery.

Summary of Beer Money by Dani Amore.  The book is penned as the beginning of a new mystery series starring a beer loving, private investigator named Michael “Burr” Ashland.  Beer Money follows Burr Ashland as he investigates the murder of his best friend through many unexpected twists and turns.

Beer Money is a fast paced, easy read.  I am not a fan of lengthy descriptions or drawn out character development.  In fact--I honestly do not have the attention span for such books.  Dani Amore jumps into the plot within the first few pages and keeps the story moving in short, well written glimpses as Burr Ashland investigates the case.  While I may have liked a little more insight into some of the characters, I am not sure that I really missed anything by having less detail.  Beer Money is fast paced and action packed with lots of surprises and unexpected revelations.

Would I recommend Beer Money by Dani Amore?  I enjoyed the book--and am looking forward to more Burr Ashland mysteries.  If you enjoy thrillers and are not put off by glimpses into “shadier” aspects of life, then give Beer Money a quick read.
