Jaded by Michelle Bellon Offers More than a Romance

Jaded_highI have been looking forward to reviewing Jaded by author Michelle Bellon for a while now--as it inched closer and closer to the top of my reading list.  My readers know that I am not really a romance novel fan--so the books that I read must promise a little more than a misguided love story.  What did I think of Jaded by Michelle Bellon?

I received a complimentary copy of this ebook for use in my review.  All opinions and experiences are my own.  We may also receive slight compensation from affiliate linking within our posts.

Quick Summary of Jaded by Michelle Bellon.  To what lengths will a man go for the woman he loves? Reed Dartmouth will learn the answer to those questions time and time again throughout his relationship with Jade Montgomery. When he first meets her as a young, gentle boy the heartache from losing his mother only a year before is still fresh and painful. Jade is different from anyone else he’s ever met; tough, sassy, and even a bit cruel. But she’s also the same as he is: she knows what it’s like to lose a parent. Their friendship begins and a bond like no other is formed. Time passes and Reed learns that not only are Jade’s parents dead, they were murdered and she’s made an oath to one day bring them justice. No matter the price. As they grow older their love evolves but for Jade, old habits die hard and she can’t stop hurting those she loves the most. Even in the midst of searching for her parents’ killers, passion ignites and jealousy burns as Jade tests Reed’s devotion for her. Will she push him too far?

Jaded by Michelle Bellon offers much more than romance.  The difficult romance between Reed and Jade is certainly an element of Jaded--but, it isn't the only element.  The author does a nice job blending mystery and surprises throughout the book.  There is an occasional love scene--but, those scenes aren't the focus of the storyline--but, rather, a "side effect".

Bellon is a talented writer with a smooth writing style.  I love Michelle Bellon's writing style.  Her well-written words flow very well--and connect flawlessly.  There were rarely points where this book left my analytical side to flounder.  While I didn't always like the characters' actions and responses--they were typically real-world based.  The author's writing pulls readers immediately into the book and keeps them hooked until the end.    The author has a story to tell--and tells it without distracting readers with fluff.

Would I recommend Jaded by Michelle Bellon?  I loved the author's writing style in Jaded--so much so that I have already her Rogue Saga to my reading list.  If you enjoy a mysterious romance--with realistic issues, troubled pasts, and a hopeful, love story--Jaded by Michelle Bellon should be on your reading list.   If you are interested--the author is giving away signed copies of some of her books in the Rafflecopter Giveaway at the end of this post.
