Apothecary Extracts 100% Pure Australian Tea Tree Oil Review and Giveaway

Do you use tea tree oil?  One of my goals for this new year is to learn more about natural products, such as tea tree oil, and their abilities to replace some of the more toxic chemical-based products in my home.  When my girls were younger, it seemed that my mother in law frequently suggested tea tree oil to help us battle everything from earaches to cradle cap.  Even with that, I wasn’t aware how truly versatile tea tree oil is until I received the opportunity to sample and review Apothecary Extracts 100% Pure Australian Tea Tree Oil.  I am not only excited to share my review of this product—but, I’m excited to offer one reader a chance to win a full sized bottle of Apothecary Extracts 100% Pure Australian Tea Tree Oil in the giveaway at the end of this post.

I received a complimentary sample of this product for use in my review.  However, all opinions and experiences are my own.

What is tea tree oil?  First things first, I guess.  What exactly is tea tree oil and what can (and should) you do with tea tree oil?  Tea tree oil is extracted from the leaves of the Melaleuca tree—and has a rich history in traditional medicine as a treatment for everything from the common cold to acne.  Tea tree oil has been shown to have strong antibacterial, antifungal and antiseptic properties—making it useful as both a household cleaner and a topical, first aid treatment.

One of the first items that I received from Apothecary Extracts after my product order was a huge, informative ebook, loaded with tea tree oil facts and 53 suggested uses for tea tree oil—with recipes.   If you are not very familiar with tea tree oil, you will be amazed by this book—and the product’s versatility.

A little about Apothecary Extracts 100% Pure Australian Tea Tree Oil.  Apothecary Extracts offers a 100% pure Australian tea tree oil.  This strength allows users to dilute it as desired for a variety of purposes—and feel confident that there are no harmful additives or diluted products.  Apothecary Extracts was founded in 2013—and their 100% Pure Australian Tea Tree Oil is sold exclusively on Amazon.com.

My experience with Apothecary Extracts 100% Pure Australian Tea Tree Oil.
Ordering was easy via Amazon.com.  A day or so before my package arrived, I received an email from the company with instructions for downloading my recipe guidebook.

Do take the time to read the book! It discusses the product’s history, uses, and side effects and offers a ton of ideas with detailed recipes for use.

The product arrived as expected in a soft sided envelope—a cute, antique-styled box surrounding a brown glass bottle of product.   Immediately upon opening the envelope, the scent of the tea tree oil was evident.  Initially, I feared that the bottle had broken or opened—but, it was tightly sealed.  From what I have read; the scent is an indication of product purity.  The stronger the smell; the purer the product.

I would imagine, with using only a few drops per recipe, the 4 oz. bottle will last quite a long time.  I had a little difficulty in getting drops to fall from the bottle—but, with practice, this became a bit easier.

How did I use Apothecary Extracts 100% Pure Australian Tea Tree Oil?  Oddly enough, there have been no scrapes or scratches to treat, no earaches, and no skin irritations.  However, we did mix a recipe for the Tea Tree Oil Steam Inhalant as sinus woes struck again this week, and we tried the Tea Tree Oil Sore Muscle Soak.  I also gave it a try in a relaxation bath oil recipe.

What was my opinion of Apothecary Extracts 100% Pure Australian Tea Tree Oil?   The scent takes some getting used to at first—it’s a little strong and is certainly distinct.  However; I think I like it as an aromatherapy aid for relaxation as well as a topical treatment.  I cannot speak to its healing properties—but, from an aromatherapy/soothing standpoint—I saw benefits from Apothecary Extracts 100% Pure Australian Tea Tree Oil.  I would recommend testing the product for skin sensitivity personally before using.  I didn’t have any problems—but, I used it with additional products; diluting the potency a bit.  I will also recommend adding additional scented, essential oils to mask the scent if the scent bothers you (or your housemates).  The scent was my family’s only complaint—but, after adding some lavender or eucalyptus, those complaints diminished.

Would I recommend Apothecary Extracts 100% Pure Australian Tea Tree Oil?  The free recipe guidebook is a wonderful bonus—do download it and save it as a resource.  The product itself is well priced for the purity and the size of the container.  I do look forward to trying the product in other recipes—especially as a household cleaner.  If you would like to try a 100% Pure Australian Tea Tree Oil, I can say that my experiences with Apothecary Extracts have been positive thus far.
