Vote for your favorite 45th Pillsbury Bake Off Designer Apron! Photo: PR Release |
Have you voted for your favorite 45th Pillsbury Bake-Off Apron? I love the Pillsbury Bake Off—and recently, I’ve developed this odd, June Clever-era love for aprons as well. Never thought it would happen—but, I actually asked for a kitchen apron for Christmas last year. I didn’t get one because my family thought I’d had too much eggnog I think…but, I like aprons—and now have three that I use daily! This year, voters will help decide which apron the Pillsbury Bake Off finalists will wear as they vie for the $1 million prize—and the three non-June Clever style designs were chosen from the creative designs of past Runway Challenge designers, Althea Harper, Kara Janx, and Carol Hannah Whitfield.
Why do I love the Pillsbury Bake Off? Maybe it’s because my old Pillsbury Cook Book is my most used paper cookbook in the house. My husband’s actually asked me why I buy cookbooks or read online recipes because it seems that my old faithful Pillsbury Cook Book is the only one I use. That’s not entirely true—granted, I am on my 3rd copy of the original cook book—but, it’s not the ONLY cook book I consult. It is, however, my first choice for a basic, family staple…apple crisp, pie crust, roasting times, or banana bread. Anyway—as I have said, too many times, I learned to cook by tagging along with Grandma Wilson in the kitchen—and I think a lot of her base recipes may have come from Pillsbury over the years.
What’s the Mama’s Corner of the World fascination with aprons? I cook. I don’t reheat, I don’t use a lot of mixes, I don’t purchase processed dinners for five, etc. I cook. I make a mess. My mom has always said that a messy kitchen is the sign of a good cook. I hope so—because my kitchen is always a disaster…but, so are my clothes. I make the kids change into play clothes…but, I don’t seem to find the time or spare wardrobe for “kitchen clothes”. I wear an apron now every time I walk into the kitchen. I love them—and keep looking for “cool” ones.
The 45th Pillsbury Bake-Off finalist aprons are “cool ones”. I want one. Unfortunately, as usual, I was coaching soccer or running to an Irish dance competition and missed the deadline for my finalist level Pillsbury Bake-Off entry. (Yeah, that’s how you missed the Pillsbury Bake Off finals too, right?) I did vote for my favorite apron. (Remember that I’m a fan of the original Pillsbury, white, plain Jane cookbook from the mid century in case you are wondering which one I chose.) Check out the Bake Off aprons and vote for your favorite; check out the BakeOff—and like the Pillsbury page on Facebook.
Leave me a comment and let me know which Pillsbury Bake-Off Apron you voted for! Yes, Mama’s World sleuth’s, you know me. I chose Kara’s Bake Off apron design this time. Happy baking, happy voting—and if you don’t own a copy of the Pillsbury Cook Book—you probably owe it to your children to at least own one for posterity!
