Ingredients for Black
and Bleu Steak Salad Recipe
2-3 Tbsp. Blackened Spice (We use this blackened spice recipe a lot for grilling!)
2 tsp. Butter
2 (4oz) cuts of your favorite Steak--I typically use Ribeye--but,
also substitute in a cheap cut like a sirloin or a sale-priced London broil for this recipe
since the steak is sliced and served directly over the salad
4-6 c. Salad Greens (I use a Spring Mix or Romaine blend)
2 Radishes, sliced
Red Onion, 2 slices separated into rings
Cherry Tomatoes, Sliced Lengthwise
1 Boiled Egg, Sliced
1 Boiled Egg, Sliced
3 Tbsp. Crumbled Bleu Cheese (reduced fat or regular)
Croutons (optional)
Bleu Cheese Salad Dressing for drizzling

Build the salad base on serving plates. Place two to three cups of salad greens on each plate. Top with radishes, onion, sliced egg and tomato and toss lightly.
Preheat a grill pan over medium heat. Add the butter and coat the pan.
Season the steak.
Sprinkle the Blackened Spice mixture evenly over both sides of the
steak, pressing the spice into the meat. To save time when preparing this salad, I mix the blackened spice in advance and store in a sealed container until ready to use.
Grill the steak.
Grill the steak on each side until steak is cooked to desired level. We prefer medium well for this salad. Remove steak from the heat and allow to rest for 3-5
minutes. Slice into ¼ inch slices. Arrange steak slices over the salad base.
Garnish the black and bleu steak salad and serve.
Sprinkle crumbled bleu cheese and croutons over the salad. Drizzle with desired salad dressing and
serve.
Add a glass of red wine and warm dinner rolls--and a romantic Valentine's Day dinner is served in less than thirty minutes!
