Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Budget-friendly steak dinner at home
  • Healthier than a restaurant version
  • Quick and easy—ready in under 30 minutes

Ingredients for Black and Bleu Steak Salad Recipe

For the Steak

  • 2-3 Tbsp. Blackened Spice (We use this blackened spice recipe a lot for grilling!)
  • 2 tsp. Butter
  • 2 (4oz) Steaks (ribeye is great, but sirloin or a sale-priced London broil works beautifully when sliced and keeps it affordable)

For the Salad

Instructions for Black and Bleu Steak Salad

1. Build the salad base.
Divide the salad greens between two plates (about 2–3 cups per plate). Top with radishes, red onion, tomatoes, and sliced egg. Toss lightly and set aside.

2. Prep the grill pan for the steaks.
Heat a grill pan over medium heat.  Add butter and swirl to coat the pan.

3. Season the steak.
Sprinkle the blackened spice generously over both sides of the steak, pressing it gently into the meat.

Tip: I often mix my blackened seasoning ahead of time and keep it in a sealed jar—it’s a time-saver for busy nights.

4. Cook the steak.
Grill the steak to your preferred doneness (we like medium-well for this salad). Remove from heat and let it rest for 3–5 minutes, then slice into ¼-inch strips.

5. Assemble the salad and serve.
Arrange the sliced steak over the salad. Sprinkle with crumbled bleu cheese and croutons. Drizzle lightly with bleu cheese dressing and serve immediately.

Make It a Valentine’s Day Moment

Add a glass of red wine, warm dinner rolls, and your favorite movie—and you’ve got a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner at home that feels thoughtful without being complicated.

Sometimes it’s not about going out—it’s about slowing down, sharing a meal, and choosing each other in the middle of everyday life.

If you’re saving this for later, this Black and Bleu Steak Salad also makes a great easy date night dinner, anniversary meal at home, or even a weeknight upgrade when you want something comforting but fresh.
