Our Super Reader
She earned the certificate for participating and achieving her Accelerated Reader (AR) Goals for 2nd Grade. (Her sisters earned that one too every year.) Miss Lynnie earned the icing on the cake with a trophy (shown above on the rock) as the Outstanding Reader for her classroom based on overall AR points and test scores. Then--she put the decorations on the cake with a first place, blue ribbon (pinned to her shirt for about 3 days straight), for reading the most words in 2nd grade with over 1 Million words read! (I'm not sure what the imaginary cup she's holding in her hand signifies...but, it's there for the record....just in case..) The older sisters have no trophies or ribbons--so Miss Madelyn is on top of the world (still)!
Of course, she is already setting next year's goals. I'm not sure that she can spend much more time reading than she did this year--but, she says she can. And Will.
Enjoy your week--and don't forget to link up your latest #WordlessWednesday posts!

ReplyDeleteThat's a great award to win. My daughter was the top AR reader in fourth grade and at 24 years old, her reading habit is still going strong.

That's great! Being able to read well takes you places. She will be able to understand word problems for math better, and so on.
