Guest Post from Mirror Image Author CJ Warrant
Hey everyone!
Thanks for letting me guest post. My name is CJ Warrant and I write dark romantic thrillers and contemporary romance. Today I want to touch on the question that most readers and writers ask.
“Where do you get your inspiration?”
It’s a popular question, which I’m sure all published authors are asked. I know this because I’ve asked some of my fellow author friends that same question and they say the same thing.
For me, my inspiration comes from anywhere. Seriously!
I can be sitting on the passenger side or driving in my car and spot something that draws my attention, and wham, a spark of an idea comes to mind. It doesn’t have to be something huge. Sometimes the smallest of ideas can be huge once the vision of the story is flourishes.
With Mirror Image, my latest full-length dark romantic thriller, the idea started out watching a movie that dealt with Dr. Jeckle and Mr. Hyde then a commercial came on with twins. Then my brain churned the two and then the what-ifs, how, when and why questions came into play.
Sometimes a spark happens when I’m taking a shower—washing my hair—not thinking about anything and Bam, an idea of a story hits me. So, it doesn’t matter where an idea comes from, as long as you find inspiration in it and let your imagination fly.
Thanks for letting me hang out with you all!!
