About the Book
Trapped on Naples Island, Eddie Dees does everything he can to hold his family together. A supernatural storm is feeding on people’s fear and paranoia. The more people turn on each other, the stronger it becomes.
Believing there are small, systematic breaks in the storm, he plans to make his way off the island with as many residents as possible. But he must first deal with the crazed gunman roaming the streets as well as another growing threat: Klutch, a violent army vet suffering PTSD, has recruited a band of followers who believe the storm is a weaponized weather experiment gone awry. Klutch plans on stopping anyone from leaving the island, and one of his followers is Eddie’s own teenage son.
My Review
Storm Taken is suspenseful from start to finish. The author does a wonderful job introducing readers to his setting and his cast of characters and really builds the novel's growing level of action and suspense from the very first few pages. I loved getting to know the characters and following along as the unusual happenings unfolded. While supernatural in theme, fans of general suspense thriller novels will be drawn to the developing story and its twists and turns.
Storm Taken is a page-turner. I was hooked by the novel's characters and their quirky interactions. The author's writing style builds the plot slowly over the first half of the book--but, even during the build, it was impossible to set the characters and their growing stories aside.
Would I recommend Storm Taken by William Michael Davidson? The author creates a unique, supernatural thriller loaded with a wonderful cast of characters. While the central plot is a supernatural storm--the author keeps the novel genuine and believable. Additionally, he does a wonderful job weaving twists, turns and the unexpected along the way. I would recommend this novel to fans of both suspense novels and supernatural thrillers. I truly enjoyed the author's writing style, his character development, and his storyline. While this novel is a stand-alone, I am looking forward to adding more work from this author to my reading list.
