About the Book

In the daily rush to get to school and work, check the alerts on our phones, worry about scary monsters (AAAHHHH!), and keep up with our favorite shows, it can be easy to lose sight of the most important thing in life―love.

But from kindly crossing guards to thoughtful neighbors to our closest friends and family, love is everywhere. It’s in the smell of Mom’s freshly baked croissants. It’s in the wag of a dog’s tail. It’s in a teacher’s warm greeting at the schoolhouse. And it’s in a goodbye kiss from Dad as he makes his way to work.

When the world sometimes feels uncertain and the sky feels gray, just look around and notice how love can melt your worries away.
My Review

What I See is Love Offers Life Lessons About Family, Community, and Kindness. The author reminds little ones (and parents and caregivers, too) that a village surrounds our families as we navigate our day--we need to recognize and appreciate the efforts! From the family within our home to the teachers and community helpers we encounter during our days, there are many signs of kindness and love presented to us. While it is undoubtedly easy to rush through our days with our heads down, caught up in negativity. This book is a beautiful reminder that there are so many positive people and happenings surrounding us if we take the time to notice them!

What I See is Love Is a Lovely Book Featuring Diversity and Community. With easy-to-read pages and fun, colorful illustrations, the author and illustrator share the views many of us see in our diverse neighborhoods and communities. With so much darkness and anger seeping into daily life, this positive look at kindness and love brings families a lot to discuss and consider.

Do I Recommend What I See is Love by Gabriella Fiorletta? The world can be scary, especially for children just learning how to navigate their daily lives. This children's story is a wonderfully positive book to help remind families of the good we encounter regularly--or to remind families to bring some good to others! What I See is Love is the perfect book for preschool and early elementary readers and families as they begin their new school years.

Meet the Author

Gabriella Fiorletta studied English literature at the University of South Florida. She is a former teacher, guidance counselor, and stay-at-home mom. When she is not reading a book to her three young children, you can find her enjoying the beaches of sunny Florida, cooking her favorite Italian meals, or planning her family’s next RV adventure. Writing a children’s book has been a dream of hers since she was a little girl. One night when she was tucking her daughter Charlotte into bed, she pointed to her mom’s heirloom necklace and said, “Mom, when I look at you, I see love.” With that, the foundation of Gabriella’s first children’s book was laid.
