My Review
Barnaby the Runaway Sheep Teaches Lessons of Trust and Faith. This is an adorable story--with a relatable, lovable main character--that teaches so many lessons to young readers. This is the perfect family story-time book and would also be wonderful for Christian educators. The "lost sheep" lesson offers families so many opportunities for conversations with little ones--from discussing unconditional love to the realities of worry and doubt that come when we fail to have faith and trust in God or in our "shepherds" (or our parents/caregivers). The story is simple and easy to read--but, it holds many important lessons within the pages.
Expect Beautiful Illustrations and an Inspiring Story. The illustrations capture Barnaby's emotions and the various elements of his story--from the farm and his shepherds to the world outside. As Barnaby's story unfolds and he learns about trust, friendship and faith in his shepherds--the beautiful messages are readily reflected in illustrations that make the story more accessible and understandable for younger readers.
Would I Recommend Barnaby the Runaway Sheep by Maria Antonia? This is the perfect addition to your Easter baskets this year. The story is Biblical based--but, it also holds wonderful, relatable lessons about irrational fears and doubts--and trusting those who love you that make it perfect for any young reader. I would definitely recommend this heartwarming adventure story to Christian families or to Christian educators.

Meet the Author & Illustrator
Maria Antonia learned to write her name at five years old and tried
typing with an old manual typewriter at age eight. However, it was when
she met the computer that she never turned back. Many years later, she
still clickety-taps out her stories onto the screen, stories that have
turned into picture books like The Christmas Elephant and Barnaby the Runaway Sheep.
In addition to writing, Maria also enjoys sipping a nice cup of hot tea
and capturing the world with her camera. She has lived in Sunny Spain,
Busy New York City, and currently resides in the Great White North of
Canada.
Sayani Mukherjee is an Indian illustrator based in Dublin, Ireland.
Sayani embarked on her artistic journey with a passion to observe and
recreate children’s expressions and activities in a whimsical art form.
Her love for children’s literature combined with her artistic prowess
led her to specialize in illustrating books for young readers. With a

ReplyDeleteAlso, loved the Runaway Sheep, I want to pet that sweet sheep who doesn't know that it's okay to be scared and a loving shepherd will help you through.
Barnaby and some kids who runaway can learn not to be afraid to come home.
