My Review

 

The War at the Ice Cream Store 2 is a fun addition to the series. The author includes entertaining characters from the first book, adds some new characters and continues the pun-filled writing style that engages adults and children alike. 

 

Simple Illustrations Add to the Pun-Fun. I think the "Storm-Scoopers" were my favorite giggle-worthy moment, but there are so many witty plays on words that the author uses, and the illustrations depict them in colorful, fun, simple ways for little readers to easily understand and enjoy.

 

Would I Recommend War at the Ice Cream Store 2: Rocky Road vs The Sundae Storm by Cheryl DaVeiga? I also love finding children's books that are fun for older children and adults. While this one could be read by young readers alone, it also makes an engaging family or group story time read. It's also a perfect themed read to get little ones excited about summer or a trip to an ice cream store.
