Voters have selected the winning designer apron to be worn by participants in the 45th Annual Pillsbury Bake-Off. The apron created by Project Runway alumni Althea Harper was chosen the winner of the Pillsbury Bake-Off Apron Design “Runway Challenge”. Harper’s design will be worn by the 100 finalists as they compete for the $1 million grand prize at the 45th Pillsbury Bake-Off Contest in Orlando, Florida, in March.

If you missed last week’s post about voting for the design, let me catch you up. Visitors to the Pillsbury Facebook page were asked to cast their vote and choose one of three apron designs from Project Runaway alumni designers as the apron to be worn by the 100 finalists set to compete for the $1 million grand prize at the 45th Pillsbury Bake-Off Contest. A final apron selection was chosen on October 17, 2011.

Remember, when I said I wanted one? In January, Harper’s winning design will also be available as a limited edition apron for purchase at the Pillsbury Store. I’ll try asking for one again…maybe this time for my birthday since I think the family realizes that I really do like aprons and it wasn’t just the eggnog talking last year.

Who are the 100 Bake Off Finalists? In case you are wondering how your state is represented at the 45th Pillsbury Bake-Off, a list of finalists and their entries are posted on the Pillsbury Website.
