While I was pregnant with my youngest daughter, I began to notice some major changes in my skin. Dark spots appeared and by the time of her birth, I had developed something of a “mask” discoloration on my forehead. As another birthday came and went, I decided it was time to try something new--again--and I was offered the opportunity to sample and review the Garnier Skin Renew Dark Spot Overnight Peel. How did the Garnier Skin Renew Dark Spot Overnight Peel stand up to review in my corner of the world?
What is Garnier Skin Renew Dark Spot Overnight Peel? If you find yourself a little leery of over-the-counter skin peels--you are not alone. I have tried a few over the years and some are really harsh--and offer little benefit. The Garnier Skin Renew Dark Spot peel is a leave-on peel that helps speed skin cell exfoliation to help fade dark spots and “uncover” the brighter, even toned skin below. It is intended for daily use--so it is not as harsh as some peels.
What did I like about the Garnier Skin Renew Dark Spot Peel? It had a light scent and gel-like feel--but, didn’t have the chemical smell and feel that I associate with facial peels. It was easy to apply with the pump applicator and did not leave me feeling like I was wearing a mask.
Well? How well did it work? How did the Garnier Skin Renew Dark Spot Peel work on my dark spots? I did see a little improvement in my skin tone--but, I discovered that my skin was a little sensitive to the product so I was only able to use a few times a week rather than every night. My skin was brighter and looked healthier--but, my problem dark spots did not really improve much over the four week treatment. I am not sure if my results would have been different had I been able to use it nightly as directed--but, the results were not as dramatic as I had hoped.
Would I recommend the Garnier Skin Renew Dark Spot Peel? I would suggest it as a skin treatment option for those seeking a gentler, facial peel or those just noticing dark spots and uneven skin tone. I didn’t experience a dramatic change personally--but, I did see a slight improvement with only minimal usage. The product retails for around $17 online and in many grocery stores or drugstore/discount stores.
