As a
parent, it saddens me that 1 in 6 people in the United States, more than 49
million people—many of them children—do not have enough food to eat. 13 million American families struggle with
hunger. This month, we are joining General Mills , Feeding America®, Big Machine Label Group, and Target to help Outnumber
Hunger in local communities. We
are excited to share a bit about the Outnumber Hunger program—and let you know
how you can help local food banks and local families in need.
What is Outnumber Hunger? Outnumber Hunger is a joint effort combining General
Mills and Feeding America to secure donations and funds to combat hunger in our
local communities. Big MachineLabel Group musicians and Target have also joined Operation Hunger to help support this
cause.
How can you help Outnumber Hunger?
There are several ways that you can help the hungry in your community.
Purchase specially marked General
Mills Products—and enter package codes. For every code you enter at
OutnumberHunger.com by January 31, 2015, General Mills will donate 55.5¢ to
Feeding America – enough to secure 5 meals on behalf of local food banks. It’s
that easy! General Mills has already donated $600,000. And, they’re prepared to
donate up to an additional $600,000 based on online code entry and other
consumer actions, up to a maximum total donation of $1,200,000. You can find a list of participating General Mills Products on the Operation Hunger Website.
For a
limited time, when you buy 5 select Outnumber Hunger items in one visit at
participating Target Stores, you can take home an EXCLUSIVE Outnumber Hunger
Now CD complimentary Big Machine Label Group ($4.99 retail value). The CD
features:
- Florida Georgia Line: “Cruise”
- Rascal Flatts: “Changed”
- The Band Perry: “DONE.”
- Cassadee Pope: “Wasting All These Tears”
- Thomas Rhett: “It Goes Like This”
Give Directly to Feeding
America. If you would prefer to support
Feeding America directly, simply visit the Feeding America website—and make a cash donation, launch a virtual food drive (or find a food drive in progress) or explore one of the other Ways to Give on the Feeding America Website
Volunteer at a local food bank near you. Food banks in your area often need volunteers to
help serve in a variety of ways. Check
out The Feeding America Website’s Food Bank Locator for a list of food banks in your community.
There are so many ways to help our
communities Outnumber Hunger! We hope
you will join us in supporting this campaign!
