What were my initial thoughts (and concerns) about Busy Beauty Showerless Shave Gel?
When I first saw the package, I had my doubts that the product would last for more than a few shaves. It seemed a bit small for the price.
I was also hesitant to let the girls use it without access to water for the first time. (I have used other "waterless" shave products in the past--and call me a pessimist--but, I was expecting a mess on my hands or inside the car...or the need to shave with something else after they shaved.)
I was also concerned that the scent would be bothersome to my scent-sensitive daughter or that the formulation would not be as friendly as claimed for my super skin sensitive one.
After the container sat on the shelf for about a week, my middle daughter was home for a few hours between activities and decided to give it a try.
ALL of my worries and doubts disappeared.
Wow.
What did we think of Busy Beauty Showerless Shave Gel?
The scent and feel of the product is not overpowering or unpleasant at all. The product canister dispenses small amounts--but, users really do not need a lot of the product to accomplish a quick, touch up, shave. The gel itself is thick--but, goes on easily and smoothly and adheres very nicely to the back of the razor as it "shaves" off.
My daughter shaved both legs without water--and without any mess at all with the razor pictured above. Granted she shaves every other day and was just shaving off a slight stubble growth--but, all of my worries about sticky messes or shave gel "gunking up" the razor were gone!
"Feel this! You need to feel how smooth my legs are!!" Okay. This was a first. Ever. Let me say that this daughter is not a touchy, feely, girly kind of girl. Shaving legs is a necessary evil. She isn't a lotion and perfume kind of girl--but, she does use moisturizing shave gels and does often require some prescription creams for dry and very sensitive skin. She was in amazement at the way her legs felt after about 10 minutes of shaving. (And--I did feel her legs and they were--really--probably softer and smoother than I've ever noticed since she was a baby.)
She immediately packed the Busy Beauty Showerless Shave Gel into the suitcase that was going off with her to color guard camp that weekend! She was seeing little time to shave during camp--and seeing several girls lining up for bathroom time in the dorm style accommodations.
My youngest daughter saw similar results and loves the product for quick touch ups or for her all-too-frequent "missed spots"--and has been known to shave on the way to soccer practice in the car.
Would I recommend Busy Beauty Showerless Shave Gel?
We love this product--and I just purchased a 2 pack. The initial can of product did last a lot longer than I had originally anticipated. Both girls used it for several shaves over several weeks--and both were extremely disappointed when they ran out!
The girls probably prefer to use this gel than over shaving in the shower--and it is absolutely perfect for our on the go, busy ladies.
The girls love the quality of the product, it's effectiveness and the convenience of using it. I love that it is (really) mess free--and can be taken anywhere. It was PERFECT for camps over the summer and for those "Oh, man, I forgot to shave" moments on the way to a soccer practice or a dance competition!
We had zero issues with skin sensitivity nor razor burn--though everyone is different in that respect.
The girls did prefer to wash their hands after using the shave gel--but, found that just a little hand sanitizer on the go was pretty effective in removing the gel feel from their hands. The gel does accumulate on the back of the razor. My girls have never had an issue with needing to remove the gel or "wash" the razor--but, they both really do shave frequently and use the product as a stubble remover or as an "Oh, no-I missed a spot" shave gel.
It is a little pricey when compared to drugstore shave gels--but, it serves a purpose and a need in our world. It has become a product that I do plan to keep on hand for convenience sake.
We love it in our busy corner of the world!
