I Can Only Imagine Movie Promo

Even if Christian music is not your general music genre of choice--I almost bet that you have still heard (or heard of) I Can Only Imagine by MercyMe.  This song was actually one of the first songs that drew me to MercyMe and Christian music.  This song brought Christian music to the mainstream/top 40 world for so many of us.  Today--I am not sharing the song--but, the movie.    I Can Only Imagine shares the story behind the song and is set for theater release on March 16, 2018--and it is absolutely on my must-see list!  Take a few minutes & learn about this film (and the band if you aren't familiar with their music) and watch the official trailer!

About the Movie

It’s the song that brings ultimate hope to so many … often in the midst of life’s most challenging moments. Amazingly, the song was written in mere minutes by MercyMe lead singer Bart Millard. In reality, those lyrics took a lifetime to craft.

Although he found faith at a young age, life wasn’t easy for Bart. He leaned into an active imagination and his love of music as escapes from a troubled home life. As he grew older, Bart turned to football in hopes of somehow connecting with his abusive father. But a career-ending injury—combined with the vision of a teacher who saw unlimited potential—set Bart on a musical pathway.

Chasing a dream while running from broken relationships with father and Shannon, his childhood sweetheart, Bart hits the road on an old, decrepit tour bus with his new band MercyMe—named for his grandmother’s favorite expression. With the guidance of a grizzled music-industry insider, the band begins a journey none of them could ever have imagined.

I CAN ONLY IMAGINE stars J. Michael Finley, Madeline Carroll, Trace Adkins, Priscilla C. Shirer, with Cloris Leachman and Dennis Quaid.

Watch the Trailer

I admit it--I cry at movies.  I even cry at cartoon movies for kids. I don't often; however, cry during movie trailers.  I Can Only Imagine is a story that hit me emotionally on a lot of levels--from the trailer snippets!  With so much negativity and darkness shadowing so much of our lives at times--I think a story of hope, Faith and dreams is just what we need!
