My Review

Maintaining Friendships is a Rather Complicated Feat. Personally, the last year allowed me time to examine friendship and important relationships in a new light. While a year plus of COVID restrictions gave many of us time to reflect and re-evaluate our lives--the need and longing for close friendships and relationships became a constant factor in our days. Reflections on the Nature of Friendship takes such an in-depth look at friendships--and the many cultural, personal, psychological, sociological, practical, and real-world factors that play into the development and maintenance of the relationships we hold. Readers are taken on quite an in-depth journey through the nature of friendships--with many opportunities for personal reflection and "soul searching" throughout the pages.

Reflections on the Nature of Friendship Offers Powerful Insights and Real-World Suggestions for Readers.  Despite the complicated nature of our relationships--the author does a fascinating job putting all of the moving parts into perspective. Presenting a well-balanced blend of research, case studies, and thought-provoking selections of quotes, poetry, creative arts examples, and reflections points for readers allows the author to create a handy self-help book full of insights and suggestions for readers to draw upon as they build, maintain--and even improve the many friendships and relationships in their lives.

Would I Recommend Reflections on the Nature of Friendship by Daniel Cantor, Yalowitz, Ed.D? I wish I had discovered this book years ago! I would definitely recommend this book to anyone seeking the tools and knowledge to develop and sustain stronger interpersonal relationships. I think this is the perfect read for adults navigating changing friendships in our changing times. I think the book is handy for parents seeking to help young adults and teens learn to create and maintain meaningful experiences in a world that makes "connections" easy and constant--but, not necessarily meaningful.
