About the Book

Can You Step into Your Power and Birth a New You at Midlife?

YES! Midlife, and the major events that encompass the ages of 35-65, can be devastating or powerful for women. But we can choose to be awakened at this powerful time of life. This memoir is the story of Donna Daniell's healing journey through the five stages of the midlife voyage-Lost at Sea; Finding a Mooring; Deep Diving; Rebirthing; and the New You-to find self-love, resilience, and feminine wisdom. It is also a roadmap for other women on the midlife journey, charting a course that transmutes challenges into inner rebirth and stepping into the power of the Wisewoman.

My Review

A Midlife Voyage to Transformation is Very Relatable--and Motivational. As the author told her story from the birth of her son through the stages of her personal midlife voyage--she wrote in such an honest, relatable way that I was quickly able to sympathize, empathize and see myself and (too many) pieces of my own life story in her pages. After finishing the book, I realized I am still drifting between Lost at Sea and Finding a Mooring--I thought I was mooring, but looming empty nest syndrome has definitely been pushing me back out to sea! Donna's story is inspiring and motivational, as it is essential to realize that the stages and feelings I am experiencing during this time in my life are not unique. It was very nice to relate to the author's story and feel less alone in my own story!

The Author Writes a Memoir that Is Also Very Guiding to Other Women. While readers will read through the author's life experiences and challenges moving into and through her stages of midlife--they will also read through the author's breakthroughs and epiphanies that allowed her to create her personal rebirth and become a self-love accepting person. This book isn't a preachy, here-is-the-path-you-must-take sort of self-help book--but rather an emotional, relatable life story that incorporates a therapeutic journey of self-discovery and transformation.

Would I Recommend A Midlife Voyage to Transformation by Donna Roe Daniell? Sometimes, you find the perfect book at the ideal time in your life. I indeed discovered that in Donna's memoir. This book would benefit women even a bit before the traditional midlife age as self-care and personal self-discovery is too often difficult for women to embrace! If you are a woman braving the waters of midlife--this is a must-read--especially if you are feeling caught up in that "lost at sea" stage of life
