About the Book

The world is not always perfect. A scraggly little tree named Needles must endure taunts, criticism, and setbacks to realize his goal of becoming a beautiful Christmas tree.

This is a story of hope, dreams, desires, determination, and never giving up. It also offers the observation that what others think is beautiful may not really matter. Beauty is truly in the eyes of the beholder . . . and paired with the spirit of Christmas, maybe we can make the world just a little more perfect!
My Review

Needles the Forgotten Christmas Tree Brings a Heartwarming Holiday Story to Young Readers. Little Needles didn't look like all the big, perfect, typical Christmas trees at the holiday tree farm. He was small, and his little, scraggly branches were less than ideal. While he was sad that his path to becoming a decorated Christmas tree in a family's home was not smooth, he found his perfect place with the perfect family to appreciate him and his unique beauty. The little children's story reminds readers that true beauty is within and shines through to those who take the time to look a little deeper to see it.

Easy-to-Read Pages and Lovely Illustrations Bring Needles' Story to Life. There is a calm, peaceful, love-filled feeling to the pages of this story. While Needles' felt forgotten and alone, he still found caring people who wanted to help him find a place with a family for the holidays. The words and illustrations work together to show Needles' journey from a lonely Christmas tree waiting for a home to a beautiful family tree filled with pride and confidence when he found a home.

Would I Recommend Needles the Forgotten Christmas Tree by Richard Wagner? This book is a heartwarming holiday story that reminds us that beauty and perfection are truly subjective --and even gives us a little of the true meaning of Christmas by showing the value of opening our homes and hearts to others. Needles the Forgotten Christmas Tree is a lovely holiday story with a beautiful message and a well-deserved happy ending.

About the Author

Wagner grew up in Southern California. When he was 14-years old, a business friend of his father’s had a small Christmas tree delivered as a thank you. Their family already had a large tree decorated in the house. Not being able to find anyone who needed a tree, that small Christmas tree stood outside by itself for the remainder of the Christmas holiday.
