Kiss Me Organics Organic Dandelion Root Tea Review

By on 4/14/2015 10:32:00 AM

For the past couple of years, we have been much more aware of our health, our diets, and the hazards presented by our environments.  We have learned so much about the benefits (and risks) of the foods that we eat.  We have removed many things from our diets over the past two years--and have added some things which once would have seemed unusual to us!  I had been reading about the benefits of dandelion root and was quite excited to sample and review the Organic Dandelion Root Tea from Kiss Me Organics.

We received a complimentary sample of this product for use in our review.  All opinions and experiences are our own.

A little bit about Kiss Me Organics' Organic Dandelion Root Tea--and the health benefits.  I am not a nutritionist--so much of the information in these statements come from Kiss Me Organics.   This Dandelion Root Tea is certified organic and GMO free.  It is also suitable for a vegan diet.  This particular tea combines the dandelion root with aromatic hibiscus and cinnamon powder--enhancing the flavor and adding additional health and wellness benefits.

Some of the noted health benefits reported by Kiss Me Organics....
Organic Dandelion Root supports healthy digestion--which allows the body to absorb more nutrients and improve physical and cognitive functions. It also improves kidney health and liver function by helping to detox the liver and kidneys of built-up toxins.

Raw Dandelion root is rich in Vitamins A, C, D and B-complex plus Iron, Potassium and Zinc. A diet rich in these nutrients can help treat mood disorders, liver disorders and boost a weakened immune system.

While enhancing the earthy flavor, and adding a hint of flowery sweetness to every cup; Hibiscus has been shown to help regulate blood pressure and Cinnamon has been shown to regulate blood sugar and reduce bad cholesterol.

My first impressions of the Organic Dandelion Root Tea from Kiss Me Organics.  The packaging leaves little question as to what's inside.  You can clearly see the beautiful dandelion flowers on the front--and the lovely hibiscus and cinnamon are featured around the box.  The tea bags themselves were very sturdy and held together very well during use.  (There is nothing worse than a weak teabag!) I loved the scent of the tea!  I could immediately smell a bit of floral and light cinnamon. I was excited to taste the product.

How did the Organic Dandelion Root Tea from Kiss Me Organics taste? This tea has absolutely become my go-to afternoon tea.  I love the scent--the color--and the taste!  It has a very light, lovely, floral aroma--with just a slight note of cinnamon. I am fairly scent-sensitive and this has just enough scent to soothe--without become bothersome.  I even love the color of the tea!  It has a light rosy color after steeping--and the color doesn't change much with additional steeping beyond a few minutes.  The tea is pretty and it smells nice and it tastes delicious.  I often struggle with herbal teas as they often taste strong or unpleasantly earthy.  I love this tea.  The flavor as it develops is fine--although I do often add a bit of sweetener since my afternoons generally lead me to a "sugar craving".  I use stevia or sometimes honey and the tea is a perfect fit for my taste.

Would I recommend Kiss Me Organics Organic dandelion root tea? I often struggle with herbal teas as they are frequently bitter, too strong or have additional flavorings not suited to the tea.  I also suffer from migraines--and many herbal teas seem to serve as migraine triggers for me.  I was expecting the worst with this tea.  I was expecting probably something more like a matcha green tea flavor--given that dandelion greens are pretty strong or earthy; so I was pleasantly surprised.  The tea was not at all earthy-tasting.  My middle daughter  (who is fairly picky about everything) actually liked the flavor as well.  I was most impressed that this blend did not trigger any side effects or a dreaded migraine!

I find the tea very soothing and relaxing in the afternoon.  I cannot speak toward the longer healthcare health effects; however, I do feel more relaxed.  I did feel an almost diuretic effect for the first few days that I drank the tea..so that makes me consider it's kidney detoxifying effects.  I haven't noticed that effect since those first few days--so it may have been simply an increase in water consumption overall.

I would certainly recommend this tea to someone looking for some health benefits from a dandelion root tea without an overpowering taste--and without making your own.  I have not suffered any side effects from the tea--however; I would be aware of potential allergy risks if you suffer from seasonal allergies or known dandelion allergies.

Buy on Amazon.  I also think the price is quite reasonable for the quality and quantity available for this product!
