It is generally not recommendable to start losing your baby weight immediately after giving birth as your body needs time to heal and recover. However once you are feeling recovered after the labor process it is natural to want to get our pre-baby bodies back and it is normal to feel impatient about that process.

The most important thing in losing weight after having a baby, is that you go easy on yourself. Your energy levels will already be lower than usual as your new baby will be demanding all of your attention and time, so take it one step at a time, integrating these simple tips as you go, to start seeing long-lasting results.

Diet.  Life with a little baby is one of the most wonderful, but also one of the most challenging and physically depleting experiences we can go through in life. Therefore it is essential that you are eating well in order to have the sufficient amount of energy in order to look after your new baby. But eating well does not mean just stuffing in whatever you can, whenever you can, losing weight after your baby means eating the right things at the right time of the day.

First of all, water and fruit and vegetables are a new mom's best friend. Of course it sounds obvious, but we can’t stress enough how important these things are in the first few months of being a mom. It’s essential to be drinking two liters of water a day (more of course in the summer months) and to be consuming at least five portions of fruit and vegetable a day to keep you strong and health and working from the right sources of energy.

Breakfast is a hugely important meal for moms wanting to stay strong whilst also working their way back to their pre-baby bodies. Breakfasts are essential for kick starting the metabolism in the morning, so that you can immediately start burning through your daily calories. Breakfasts are crucial in order for you to have that boost in energy to be able to take on the day ahead taking care of your baby, so making sure you make time to prepare yourself a filling, yet healthy breakfast is one of the most important things you can do.

You will also want to make sure that you are adding plenty of food that is rich in fiber, such as beans, lentils, grains seeds and oats. Be careful not to over do the fiber in the beginning. If you’re not used to a high-fiber diet, make sure you are introducing it slowly to let your body adjust to it over time.

Obviously any weight loss plan is going to involve trying to avoid sugars, starches and fats however, as you are going to need a lot of energy to look after your baby you can’t cut out all of these things, it is all about finding them from the right places. Get your sugars from fruit, your stodgy bread and pasta fix from wholegrain versions and your fats from healthy sources such as avocado, nuts and olive oils.

Exercise.  Again, this must be built up over time. Your body is healing and you will be generally low in energy due to the daily demands of being a new mother. So don’t go overboard and burn yourself out. Look at active things that you can do together with your new baby, to make sure that you are moving on a daily basis, but not overdoing it. Taking your baby for a splash around in the local swimming pool, or taking him or her for a daily walk around the park are both excellent places to start in building up your daily exercise routine.

Pelvic floor muscles are also important for new moms as is stretching. Have a look in your local area for any pushchair based exercise classes for mommy and baby to do together or any exercise classes that you can do together, like baby and mommy yoga, that you can go to and also meet other mothers in your local area.

A Little Extra Help.  Sometimes we all need a little helping hand, and luckily for us there are many natural aids on the market that can help us to shift those extra pounds once and for all. Have a look online to start looking at the natural diet pills that are available to start feeling out the type of pill you feel might work well for you. A good place to start would be with something like, leptigen - defendyourhealthcare.us.
