Book Review: Haunted U by Jessica Gibson

I was looking forward to reading and reviewing Haunted U, the first book in the School Spirits series by Jessica Gibson.  What did I think of the book?

Quick Summary of Haunted U.  Ezzie Lovegreen lives in a world where witches and ghosts are real. That doesn’t mean she’s not surprised when she’s suddenly being haunted by one at school. With the help of her best friend Stella, her boyfriend Beau, and her grandmother Winifred, Ezzie must find out what happened to the ghost and set her free. Secrets will be revealed that could change Ezzie’s life forever. Will Ezzie be strong enough to face the challenges set in her path? 

Haunted U. is a fast paced, quick read.  Haunted U. is written simply with lots of dialogue and quick, action packed scenes.  Readers will encounter witches, wizards, ghosts, mermaids, and more as they venture through Ezzie's world.


Would I recommend Haunted U. by Jessica Gibson?  I think it was a fun story suited for teens.  With the exception of a few love scenes, I am sure that my middle school daughter would have enjoyed it.  The author does a great job introducing characters and setting the scene for a wide range of future adventures.
