Mom Money: Earning Bonus Fuel Points from Kroger on Gift Card Purchases

Have you resolved to save more money in the new year?  For many of us, saving money is more than a goal—it is a necessity to our household budgets.  I am always on the lookout for ways to make our family’s budget stretch just a little further, especially as the girls grow and activities become more and more expensive.  One of my favorite money saving tools is the fuel points program offered from Kroger brand stores.  Are you earning fuel points at Kroger?

Disclosure:  I am a BzzAgent--and I received bonus fuel point coupons for my participation in the campaign.  As always, all opinions are my own and we only blog about programs or products that we use and recommend.

I love to save money on things I’m buying anyway.  Our regular grocery purchases earn fuel points every week—so we are able to benefit at least a little from our daily purchases.  Pharmacy purchases earn fuel rewards also!  In addition, if I know that I’m planning dinner at a certain restaurant—or purchases from a specific store--I always stop by my local Kroger store and buy a gift card for that restaurant or shop.  It earns me fuel rewards and I am able to save money on purchases that I planned anyway.

Kroger offers special fuel points bonuses throughout the year.  Over the holidays, Kroger offered a 4x Fuel Point bonus on gift card purchases.  This was a big deal for my family!

I purchased most of my holiday gift cards at Kroger—and found myself with huge fuel discounts for January.  Keep an eye on your weekly store ads for 2x or 4x fuel points on gift card purchase promotions or special fuel point earnings for select product purchases.  We earned 1654 points during the 4x Bonus Fuel Points weeks on our gift card purchases.

With a savings of 10 cents per hundred points at our local Kroger fuel center, Turkey Hill or Shell station, this saves us a lot of money on gas as we return to our busy work/school/travel schedule this month.

I am a frequent Kroger shopper—and programs like the company’s fuel points program certainly encourage me to return.  Even at 2x fuel points for purchases, my husband stopped by Kroger on his way home for a gift card before crossing town to pick up BW3’s for dinner last night.  If you do not currently take advantage of the Kroger fuel points program, take a few minutes to check it out for your local Kroger family store.  It’s an easy way to save a little money on purchases that you are already making!
