About the Book
The Austin Paradox continues the remarkable saga of Robert James Austin in a gripping emotionally-charged thriller that explores the most compelling issues of our time.
Having lost his extraordinary intellectual powers in a laboratory explosion that was intended to kill him, Dr. Robert James Austin, the greatest genius in history, whose medical cures saved countless millions, struggles to find meaning in a life that has become devoid of purpose.
As he embarks on a journey of self-discovery in an effort to regain his abilities, Austin battles private demons, otherworldly forces, and a government obsessed with controlling him. When ruthless political and business interests align to pose an existential threat to humanity, Austin is thrust into the maelstrom.
Doubted even by those who love him, Austin is confronted by a harrowing paradox as time runs out to save mankind from extinction.
The Austin Paradox is the sequel to the critically acclaimed, award-winning novel, Miracle Man, which was named by Amazon as One of the Top 100 Novels of 2015, a Top 10 Best Selling Thriller and a Top 10 New York Times/Amazon Best Seller.
The Austin Paradox continued the Miracle Man series without missing a beat. This novel caught my interest immediately and held it throughout the book. I found this novel to have a better pace than the first, and I found it to be more believable as the character faced and overcame his challenges and obstacles. Readers certainly want to read the books in order as a series. I felt this book offered more subplots and more opportunities for readers to journey through the plot twists with deeper understanding and appreciation for the characters and their plights. The author truly created a story that flowed well from the first novel of the series and left readers awaiting the next book.
The Austin Paradox is not an action-packed thriller--but, I couldn't put it down. The author offers readers a lot of details throughout this book. While detail loaded pages sometimes tend to slow a story--this novel remains a page turner as readers develop an invested interest in knowing "what happens next." The story is not an action-packed, death-defying adventure--but, it is a very well thought out, excellent story with characters and a storyline that will both hold the reader's interest and offer enough twists to keep the pages turning.
Would I recommend The Austin Paradox by William R. Leibowitz? I enjoyed this novel more than the first--and certainly plan to read the next book in the series when it is available! I found this story more believable than the first novel from the onset--and I was able to, again, watch characters grow and develop with the story. This book will also appeal to readers interested in the psychological aspects of gifted minds and the political issues of healthcare/medical research and greed. While I found this novel more believable and better paced than the first novel--it is not a fast, action-packed thriller--but, was impossible to put down nonetheless. I enjoyed this book more than the first and look forward to future books from the series.
