The Denver Highlands Ranch area has a number of fine culinary schools for chefs in training, but a quick look through your tourist information guides will let you know which of these schools have recreational cooking classes.
The classes are usually themed, and some are designed especially for couples having a date night. Others may be titled "Cooking for Tailgating," or "Family Breakfasts." Although the well-known and respected Kitchen Table Cooking School recently closed its doors for the last time, you may find that the Uncorked Kitchen in Centennial, about 15 minutes away, offers just the class for you.

If you plan to go shopping, there is no lack of places to shop for food-related items as well as fine wines and craft beers. Most breweries, wineries, and gourmet food shops will ship your items back home so that you don't have to worry about transporting fragile or time-sensitive items.
Tour Water 2 Wine where you can taste sulfite-free wines and enjoy modest pricing of $6 to $8 dollars a glass. You can also venture out to 3 Freaks Brewery on County Line Road to sample flavorful small-batch brews and have some sent home for later.
